A NOVEL WIRELESS MOTOR BASED ON THREE-PHASE SIX-STATOR-WINDING PMSM

Abstract

In this article, a novel wireless motor based on the three-phase six-stator-winding permanent magnet synchronous motor is proposed. Its wireless power transfer subsystem shares the main circuits of the wireless power transfer system and the conventional motor drive. Thus, it overcomes the natural operating frequency point mismatch between the two technologies, making the wireless motor directly controlled from the transmitting side without the need to transmit control signals to the receiving side. Therefore, motors driven by this new wireless motor drive can be more concise and flexible. Moreover, the matching voltage vector diagram and the applicable Field-oriented control (FOC) algorithm are also given. With them, the wireless-controlled motor shows the potential for precise torque, speed, and position control for industrial applications. Finally, a simulation model and an experimental prototype are built. In the experimental prototype, the torque of the wireless motor can reach 0.725Nm. The system starts quickly and is very stable when the load changes. Energy transmission efficiency and mechanical conversion efficiency can reach 83% and 70%, respectively. The simulated and experimental results effectively verify the novel wireless motor drive system.
